A smoother driving surface is the goal of a project about to start in Caroll and Chariton Counties. The Missouri Department of Transportation has contracted with Capital Paving, Inc. to complete the nearly $1.4 million project that includes partial-depth patching and a surface leveling overlay, followed by shoulder rock and striping.
The contractor plans to will begin October 11th with partial-depth patching on Carroll County Route V. Other routes include Carroll County Routes O and Chariton County Route M. All work is expected to be complete in early November.
Workers will be present during daylight hours, Monday through Saturday, weather permitting. Flaggers and a pilot car will guide motorists through the work zone. A 10-foot width restriction will be in place on all three routes for the duration of the project.
