An accident near Marceline left the driver with moderate injuries Monday afternoon. State Troopers report 48-year-old Erin K Hand of Marceline was taken to Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield following the accident on Route WW, a mile east of Marceline. The accident happened about 4:30 pm, when Hand was westbound and ran off the road, striking the ditch and a utility pole. She was not wearing a safety belt.
