The Chillicothe Lady Hornets Softball team finished in Second Place in the MSHSAA Class 3 State Softball Tournament on Saturday.
The Lady Hornets beat Perryville 3-1 in the semi-final game. Chillicothe scored one run in the third to tie the game and two in the fifth to secure the win.
Kinlei Boley allowed one run off two hits with 12 strike outs.
The offense was led by Jolie Bonderer with a triple and a double and Kirsten Dunn and Hope Helton with doubles.
In the Championship game Blair Oaks beat Chillicothe 3 to 2. Blair Oaks scored in the bottom of the third. Chillicothe tied the game with a run in the top of the fourth.
Blair Oaks scored again in the sixth but Chillicothe tied the game again in the top of the seventh.
In the bottom of the seventh Blair Oaks doubled, singled and walked to load the bases with no outs. The next Blair Oaks batter then walked on five pitches for the win.
