Two Chillicothe teens were injured in a single-vehicle accident early this morning in Linn County. State Troopers report the accident happened around 1:50 am on US 36, 3 miles east of Laclede, when the 16-year-old driver fell asleep and ran off the left side of the road, overcorrected and the car struck a guardrail.
The 16-year-old driver was wearing a safety belt and had minor injuries. The 17-year-old passenger was not wearing a safety belt and had moderate injuries. They were both taken to Pershing Memorial Hospital for treatment.
