A single-vehicle accident Monday afternoon near Wheeling left a Brookfield woman with serious injuries. Forty-three-year-old Anna L Hanson of Brookfield was taken to Hedrick Medical Center for treatment following the accident at about 3:50 pm, on US 36 near Wheeling. According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, Hanson was eastbound and ran off the south side of the road, went airborne, and struck the ground and a fence. She was not wearing a safety belt.
