The Bishop Hogan 7th/8th graders basketball teams played against Gilman City in the Tri-County Tournament in Jamesport on Thursday night. The Bishop Hogan girls defeated Gilman City by the score of 33-14. The Bishop Hogan boys defeated Gilman City 27-18.
This advanced Bishop Hogan to the Championship play on Saturday afternoon.
Bishop Hogan girls won the first place in the Tri-County Tournament by defeating Plattsburg girls 39-22. The Bishop Hogan boys won first place in the Tri-County Tourney by defeating Tri County of Jamesport, 37-26.
Scoring in the championship game for Bishop Hogan girls were Lyla Beetsma with 14, Ava Leamer and Sadie Bonderer with 9, Hope Donoho with 5 and Carman Woodworth with 2. Scoring on Saturday for Bishop Hogan boys were Oliver Perry with 14, Jaydin Kohl with 10, Jack Marshall with 7, and Brenten Ralls and Howie Donoho with 3 each.
