Fire destroyed a garage and damaged a home in Trenton Tuesday evening. The fire department received the call at about 5:35 pm to 503 East 22nd Street. They arrived to find the garage fully involved and flames were extending to a nearby house.
The fire crew used water and foam to put out the garage fire and the fire on the outside of the house. They check inside the house and found the fire extended to the attic and some second-floor rooms. The fire was extinguished. Firefighters also rescued a dog found in the house.
The report states the garage was a total loss. There is severe fire damage to the second floor, attic, and roof of the house. Fire also damaged a nearby vehicle.
The fire crew was on the scene for about three hours. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
