The Platte County Pirates boys basketball team jumped out to an 18 to 1 lead and went on to beat the Chillicothe Boys Basketball team 60 to 29 in the opening round of the Savannah Tournament.
Coach Tim Cool called Platte County “a really good team.”
Wyatt Brandsgaard had 9 points, Griff Bonderer with 6, James Mathew with 5, Landon Winder with 4, Jackson Trout with 3, Chace Corbin with 2 and two others with playing time.
Chillicothe will face Smithville on Thursday. The KCHI pregame show is at 5:10 pm and the tip off at 5:30. Smithville lost to Maryville boys 54-47 in their first round game.
