The Chillicothe Lady Hornets Basketball team picked up a convincing win over Maryville 52 to 35 in the opening round of the Savannah Tournament.
Chillicothe started off with a quick 8-0 lead and never trailed, leading by 17 points at the half.
Maryville started the 3rd quarter on a modest run, getting as close as 8-points behind. Chillicothe Coach Darren Smith talks about the start of the second half.
Chillicothe girls were led by Essie Hicks with 18 points, Jolie Bonderer with 15, Lucy Reeter with 11, Jessica Reeter with 6, Bre Pithan with 2 and playing time for five other players.
The Lady Hornets resume play in the Savannah Tournament tonight against St Joseph Benton.
Coach Smith says this is a typical Benton team.
