Two Chillicothe residents have been arrested in connection with the death of a 2-year-old child on Christmas eve. The Chillicothe Police Department investigated the incident after receiving the call of an unresponsive child in the 1500 block of Calhoun. The child was taken to Hedrick Medical Center and was found to be deceased.
Chillicothe PD Detectives immediately began an in-depth investigation with the assistance of the Livingston County Coroner’s Office, conducting several interviews late into the night and for the next several days. They filed for and received several subpoenas to obtain pertinent information in regards to this case.
On January 4, 2022, after further investigation, Detectives made arrests of 22-year-old Avery Nicole Young and 46-year-old Christopher R Wilson, both of Chillicothe. On Wednesday, they were each charged with alleged 2nd-degree murder and endangering the welfare of a child.
They are held at the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail with no bond allowed.
