While the Missouri legislature is working to complete the redistricting for our representatives in the nation’s capital, Representative Rusty Black says the process for the boundaries for the 163 House Representatives in Jefferson City is handled by committee.
Black says those committees get together and draw maps.
He says if there is not a consensus, with the 14 agreeing on a single map, this goes to the courts.
Black says even at this point, there can be legal challenges.
The shifting of district boundaries will determine who is representing what parts of the state and who may or may not be eligible to serve in the district they currently are elected to represent.
