The National Weather Service was in Chillicothe Wednesday evening to provide Storm Spotter Training to area first responders, including Chillicothe Fire Fighters and others. The training included how to identify the storms and elements of the storms and how to report the information to the National Weather service.
The National Weather Service relies on spotters across the coverage areas to provide real information on the local weather situation that can not be seen by the radar.
The first responders were joined by members of the local ARES amateur radio group, which assists local agencies during severe weather and other emergencies.
