Tornadoes and Severe Thunderstorms usually have two types of notifications. National Weather Service Meteorologist Pamela Pietrycha says pay attention to the watches and warnings.
Pietrycha says when a Tornado Warning is issued, it is time to take cover.
If you are in a mobile home, go to your storm shelter or a neighbor’s house.
If traveling, drive away from the storm. If there is not time, try to find a sturdy building. If that s not possible get into a low area and protect yourself from debris as best you can.
Wednesday we will discuss Lightning awareness and safety.
