The Chillicothe Fire Department was dispatched to 11468 LIV 2359 for a wildland fire that was threatening a residence. They arrived to find fire approximately 100 yards from a home. Additional units were requested. The fire crew sprayed 200 gallons of water and there was about 10 acres were burnt before we were able to gain control. The cause of the fire was a controlled burn that we were called to earlier in the day.
At about 2:20 pm, Chillicothe Fire Department was called to Utica for a Fire at 510 Vanson Street. The department responded with Engine 3 and Tanker 1 and arrived to find fire on the back deck of the home. Gas and electric were shut off. Moorseville Fire, Utica Fire, and Dawn Fire also responded to this fire.
The fire crew found two propane tanks were burned and the valves were unable to be closed. These units were moved away from the fire scene to protect personnel. Approximately 300 gallons were used to extinguish the fire and some of the deck was opened up to find hot spots.
The fire did not get into the home or the detached garage.
