The Hometown Hero Banner program will soon honor local veterans for their service. The Chillicothe City Council approved the use of city employees to assist in putting up banners when needed for the program that Doug Roberts says will utilize the light poles in the downtown area. Roberts says the local veteran’s organizations and the Masonic Lodge will lead the program that places the banners on the poles. The banners would have the name and service information of the veteran and a photo. Roberts says the banners would be sold on a subscription basis for a two-year period.
Roberts says the banners will be consistent with those used by Main Street and the Chamber.
The program will be open to all Livingston County Veterans who died in the service of their country or were honorably discharged.
