Hornets track and field competed in the 44th annual Benton Relays in St. Joseph and blew the competition away. The two squads raked in a combined 51 placements on the podium.
The Lady Hornets brought back 12 finishes in the top three of the 18 scored events. That included first place for Kayanna Cranmer in the 400 meter dash (1:01.83) and 800 meter run (2:30.75) , Jolie Bonderer in the 1600 meter run (5:59.31), Sadie Midgyett in discus (30.99 meters) and in the 4 by 800 meter relay (10:52.03).

In team scoring, the Hornets ran away from the rest of the field. The girls team took first place with 125.33 points; Savannah was in second place with 78.33 team points. The boys team also took first place with 114 points; Hogan Prep was second with 89 points.
The boys squad takes first for the second time this season, the girls team did it for the first time on the final meet of the regular season. Track and Field will compete in the district meet this Saturday.
