While much of the fieldwork ahead of planting was completed, some of the area farmers are falling behind due to rainfall. Livingston County FSA Executive Director Raysha Tate says corn planting is running long.
She says soybean planting is taking place.
As the corn is past the normal cutoff of May 15th for planting, some farmers may be switching to beans.
Tate says April was pretty good for rainfall, but May turned wet and we still have rain in the forecast.
