The August primary election is about six weeks away and there are some that question the integrity of our election system and the equipment that is used. Presiding Commissioner Ed Douglas says it is something he has looked into and he shared his thoughts. He began with talking about the voting machines.
Douglas says Paper ballots serve as a back-up in case there is a problem and to confirm the accuracy of the machines.
He says there are also checks in place for those requesting a ballot, including for Absentee voting.
Douglas says doing away with voting machines is not an option and would not be legal because ADA equipment is required by state law.
