SEDALIA – Sedalia homered four times in the first inning Tuesday en route to a 17-1 seven-inning victory over Chillicothe at Liberty Park Stadium.
The Bombers scored 11 times in the first inning, capped off by a rare individual two-homer inning for Anthony Hansen, who tallied five RBI on the night.
Zach Dillman hit the fifth Bomber home run of the game in the fourth inning, opening up a 15-1 lead at the time. After an RBI double from Tanner Sears in the first inning, Sedalia scored the final 17 runs of the game.
Mudcat starting pitcher Bailey Quint lasted just one inning in his start.
Every hitter in the Sedalia starting lineup recorded at least one hit in the contest, including four different players who homered. Both Dillman and first baseman Dee Triplett reached base every trip to the plate.
Xerian Ximines earned the win for Sedalia, despite going just four innings on the bump. He gave up just three hits and struck out two.
Brayden Brewer had the only multi-hit game for the Mudcats Tuesday, going 2-for-3 with two singles at the plate.
Chillicothe falls to 9-16 overall on the season.
The Mudcats continue their road trip Wednesday when they travel to Des Moines. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. C.T.
