A special Prosecutor and a Judge from outside Livingston county have been assigned to handle the case against Chillicothe Police Office Joshua Charlton. Charlton was arrested by State Troopers Friday in Chillicothe for alleged Domestic Assault.
Livingston county Prosecuting Attorney Adam Warren requested a Special Prosecutor for the case. The courts approved the request and Brady C Kopek of Kingston has been assigned.
There was also an order for a change of Judge in the case as Associate Circuit Judge Michael Leamer recused himself from the case. Presiding Judge Ryan W Horsman has assigned the case to Associate Circuit Judge Jason A Kanoy from Caldwell County.
No court dates have been set at this time.
