The State Fire Marshall is investigating a fire on and under the Canadian Pacific railroad bridge that crosses the Grand River south of Chillicothe. Chillicothe Fire Department received the call about 6:30 Monday morning and arrived to find a couple railroad ties burning and a fire in the debris below the bridge.
The brush and debris had built up under the bridge during the flooding.
The fire was reported by Matthew Stirling, who noticed the fire as he was driving on US 65.
