Drivers will now receive warning of emergency vehicles entering Washington Street. The installation of the new safety flashers was completed this week and Fire Chief Darrell Wright says these are for the protection of the fire and ambulance crews, and the public.
Wright says MoDOT approved the new signs that were jointly funded.
The signs, installed by the Street Department, are located on Washington Street just south of 1st Street and just north of 2nd Street. If you see the signs flashing, watch for the emergency vehicles and give them the right of way as they enter the highway.
