An investigation of Child Endangerment in the 1800 block of Clay Street began Monday, resulting in two arrests Tuesday evening on multiple charges.
Monday evening, officers took one child into protective custody.
Tuesday, officers requested a search warrant from the Livingston County Court, and at about 3:15 executed that warrant.
As a result, Officers discovered terrible living conditions and evidence of the crime of child endangerment. Officers further discovered evidence of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
A 35-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man were arrested for alleged child endangerment, possession of a controlled substance, and drug paraphernalia. They were taken to the Caldwell County Detention Center and held pending the filing of formal charges.
Officers were assisted by the Division of Family Services, Children’s Division, Animal Control Officer, and the Department of Emergency Services.
