The Chillicothe R-II School District Budget for the 2024/25 school year was presented to the school board. Superintendent Dr Dan Wiebers says there is considerable deficit spending included in the budget.
The deficit is about $5.5 million. This is to complete the elementary school project.
Dr Wiebers says the funds to cover that expense are carried forward from the previous budget and this was expected.
Wiebers says there are some revenue increases included in the budget.
Increased state revenue
There were also discussions about expenditures.
This includes various salary schedules.
Dr Wiebers says the overall operating budget for the district is in the black by $3,136.
