UPDATE: (1:20 pm) US 36 Eastbound is re-opened. The gas is shut off and repairs are being made.
A Natural Gas Line south of US 36, west of Chillicothe, was hit and was leaking near Noon. Empire Gas is on scene is is working to isolate and turn off the gas so repairs can be made.
The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department and MoDOT are closing US 36 East Bound until further notice. Traffic is being rerouted from Utica.
Chillicothe Fire Department is standing by at the Duck Club, in case they are needed.
