The State’s Jobs report for May shows non-farm payroll increased by 5,900 jobs, private industry payroll increased by 4,000 jobs, and government employment increased by 1,900 jobs.
Missouri’s smoothed seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased 6/10’s of a percentage point, from 2.9% in May 2023 to 3.5% in May 2024. That is up from 3.4% in April.
The monthly unemployment report with a breakdown by county will be released on June 28th.
