On Wednesday afternoon, a Brookfield man failed to stop at a stop sign on Highway 36 in Brookfield and struck a driver from Columbus, Nebraska. State troopers were assisted by Linn County Sheriff’s Department, Linn County EMS, Brookfield Police Department and Brookfield Fire Department. The driver from Brookfield, Missouri who failed to stop was 78 year old Ronald Linebaugh. He suffered moderate injuries and was transported by Linn County EMS to Pershing Memorial Hospital. Both vehicles involved in the accident Wednesday at 1:23 PM were totaled however, both drivers were wearing safety devices.
