Rachel Tozier a 32 year old Pattonsburg, Missouri native is competing in the Olympic women’s trap shooting competition in Paris. Tozier, an Army staff Seargent who is stationed at Fort Moore, Georgia, is a shooter with the US Army Marksmanship Unit’s Shotgun Team. Her path to the Olympics started as she learned to shoot a shotgun while growing up, targeting sporting clays at her family’s farm outside of Pattonsburg.
Tozier is the daughter of Porter and Dana Hoover, and is married to Tom Tozier, a retired Army specialist.
In the women’s Trap category, Tozier beat 49 other American competitors for her Olympic berth. The Olympic Women’s trap shooting competition begins July 30th and qualification continues July 31st with the finals later in the day.
