Three people were injured in crashes in the area counties over the weekend.
Drivers of two 4-wheelers had moderate injuries when they were ejected from their machines Saturday night near Wheeling. The Missouri Highway Patrol reports the incidents occurred at 10:15 pm on LIV 230 at LIV 277. According to the reports, 19-year-old Cooper Murphy of Chula and 19-year-old Aiden Foster of Hale were eastbound and traveled through a T-intersection and a fence. Cooper’s ATV overturned, while Foster struck a guidewire before his ATV overturned. Both had moderate injuries and were taken to Hedrick Medical Center for treatment. They were not wearing helmets.
Sunday, a single-vehicle crash on US 36 left the driver with minor injuries. State Troopers report 56-year-old Ayad Alnasssery of Wichita, KS was eastbound, a half mile west of Meadville, when he blew a tire on his semi and ran into the median. His truck overturned, sliding into the westbound lanes. The driver was taken to Pershing Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. He was wearing a safety belt.
