Jack R Hussey passed peacefully in his home at the age of 86 with family members at his side.

 

He was born near Dawn, Missouri to M W (Mike) and E Jeannette Hussey. He attended school at Avalon and Tina-Avalon, graduating in 1955. He worked as a tractor and farm machinery mechanic for 45 years at multiple Ford dealerships. After retirement, he joined the Chillicothe Parks Department to help maintain several local parks for seven years.

 

He is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Norma, of the home, four children, Stephen Hussey (Barbara), Shelly Macko (Sol), Sheri Sears (Jeff), and Scott Hussey (Megan). Also surviving are grandchildren Timothy Lukasiewicz (Danica), Bradley Lukasiewicz, Kaylee Sears, Brianna Lightfoot (Cody), Evelyn Basler (John), Lance Hussey (Anna), Jerren Sears, Jaeden Sears, Sean Macko, Jacob Hussey, and Matthew Hussey. The great-grandchildren are Mayson & Oaklee Lightfoot, Alina Lukasiewicz, and Josephine Hussey. He is also survived by one brother, William (Bill) Hussey (Pat) and one sister, Linda Donoho (Jim), sister-in-law P J Curley (Doug), as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

 

Preceding him in death were his parents and brothers John C, Gerald D, Lonnie Joe, James Edwin and infant sisters Judith Joan and Betty Lou.

 

As a fifty plus-year member of the Boy Scouts of America, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout, was awarded the highest council adult award, Silver Beaver, was selected into the Tribe of Mic-O-Say as an Honorary Warrior, served on the district Eagle Board of Review for fifteen or more years, and various other leadership positions for the troop and district. He was an adult member of the Girl Scouts of America, serving as bus driver, trip chaperone, and assisted with neighborhood cookie delivery. As an avid supporter of local youth, he supported the FFA through fair membership, the 4-H through leading small engine repair, and outdoor experiences through assisting in maintaining KiLiRoCo campground. He was a member of the Chillicothe United Methodist church, serving as bus driver, usher, and youth group chaperone.

 

He enjoyed several years of being chief mechanic for a stock car that was raced on local tracks. He also enjoyed spending time fishing.

 

The pallbearers are his grandsons Tim Lukasiewicz, Brad Lukasiewicz, Lance Hussey, Jerren Sears, Jaeden Sears, Sean Macko, Jacob Hussey, Matthew Hussey, Cody Lightfoot, and Jack Basler. Honorary pallbearers are Ercel Colliver, Howard Baker, Doug Reeter, Jim Donoho, and Doug Curley.

 

A Visitation service will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 14th from 5:30pm-7:30pm.

 

A graveside service will be held at Anderson-Smith Cemetery in Chillicothe, MO on Thursday, August 15th at 11:00. Memorials contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
