A woman who, with her family, supported education and arts in the Chillicothe community, passed away this week. Ann Dickinson died in Kansas City at the age of 79. Dickinson and her husband, Gary Dickinson, moved to Chillicothe in 1966. She served as an elementary school teacher and later served as the president of the Chillicothe R-II School Board for several years.
The Ann and Gary Dickinson Family Foundation provided funding for the library at the new Chillicothe Elementary School and her name is connected with that facility.
The family also provided funding for the construction of the Gary Dickinson Performing Arts Center after the death of Gary Dickinson in 1997.
