Missouri Nutrient Loss Reduction Strategy Stakeholder Meeting

A Missouri Nutrient Loss Reduction Strategy (NLRS) stakeholder meeting will be hosted by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources on October 25th.  The in-person and virtual program will be from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm, to discuss and review the highlights of the Nutrient Loss Reduction Strategy and the efforts that have occurred over the last 10 years.

Missouri is a member of the Hypoxia Task Force focused on improving water quality locally and reduce nutrient loss to tributaries of the Mississippi River and Gulf of Mexico.

The program was finalized in 2014 by a committee of representatives from environmental, agricultural, and natural resource organizations and set goals to reduce nutrient loss to groundwater and surface water through adaptive approaches.  The meeting will include presentations from Missouri DNR team members on various highlights of the last 10 years, updates on current NLRS projects, and future updates to the strategy.

This meeting will be held at the Lewis and Clark State Office Building, LaCharrette/Nightingale conference rooms, in Jefferson City, MO,
