The construction of the main road for the new Chillicothe Industrial Park was awarded to JD Bishop Construction of St. Joseph. The $2.144 million dollar contract includes tree removal, subgrade work – including stormwater, creating the roadbed and installation of railroad panels, curb and gutter, and paving.
City Administrator Roze Frampton says work will start soon.
Starting with tree removal while bats are not an issue.
The road will be off of Mitchell Avenue, near the railroad tracks.
Frampton says bids for the project came in better than expected.
Even including, there are ARPA grant funds available if there are change orders.
Of the $2.5 million dollar grant, there is about $15,000 available.
