The Chillicothe Hornets basketball team welcomed in the Trenton Bulldogs on Friday night. This years matchup was the 204th meeting between Chillicothe and Trenton in the local rivalry.
The Hornets raced out to an exceptional start. Jaishon White was dominant down low, scoring 12 first half points, as Trenton had no answer for him. The Hornets outside shots were falling also, Chillicothe connected on six first half 3-pointers, a trio from Sol’jier Allen, a pair from Oliver Perry and one from Jaydin Kohl for the Hornets to hold a 40-15 advantage at half.
The 2nd half was more of the same for Chillicothe. Coach Cool involved all 13 players on the roster, as each one recorded at least one rebound in the game. The difference on the boards was sizeable for Chillicothe who outrebounded Trenton 37 to 18. White and Allen paced the Hornets in scoring with 14 points each, resulting in a 64-32 win.
Chillicothe is now 3-2 this year while Trenton drops to 3-3. The Hornets will play Macon at home on Tuesday.
