The State’s Jobs report for January shows non-farm payroll decreased by 17,200 jobs, private industry employment decreased by 18,800 jobs, and government employment increased by 1,600 jobs.
Missouri’s smoothed seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased by one-tenth of a percentage point in January, increasing to 3.7 percent. That is two-tenths of a percentage point higher than in January 2024.
The monthly unemployment report with a breakdown by county will be released on March 14th.
