A recent arrest and charges resulted from a traffic stop by a Chillicothe Police Detective in June of 2024. That stop led to a significant discovery of a substantial collection of child pornography. The routine traffic stop of a 21-year-old man, identified as Kaleb Tyler Renken, led to a discovery he was wanted on a warrant for Driving While Suspended.
During the arrest, the detective located a mobile phone in the man’s pocket, with a white residue that tested positive for alleged cocaine. They also located drug paraphernalia. As the investigation continued, the phone was submitted to the Electronics Crime Lab for forensic examination. 10 months later, on April 3rd, 2025, the Electronics Crime Lab notified Chillicothe Police that their examination had uncovered approximately 212 digital files containing child pornography on the man’s phone.
