A ceremony to commemorate the life and accomplishments of Representative Jerry Litton was held at the Home of Sliced Bread Welcome Center, as Litton was inducted into the Chillicothe Hall of Fame. The event included the unveiling of a commemorative piece. Livingston County Presiding Commissioner Ed Douglas shared his recollection that Jimmy Carter attended Jerry Litton’s funeral in Kansas City and said that he might very well have become President of the United States had his life not been cut short.
The exhibit piece was then unveiled by Litton’s brother-in-law Jim Summerville, while Brett Cox, who nominated Litton to the Chillicothe Hall of Fame, read the text on the plaque aloud.
