Seniors Lead Hornets Tennis To Win

Some Chillicothe Senior Tennis Players picked up key wins to lead the team to a 5-4 home win over Bishop LeBlond.
Hornets Coach Robert Long said the team was down 3-4 when Seniors Seth Batye and Colten Johnson came through with the fourth and fifth wins for the team victory.
In doubles matches Tyler Maasdam and Noah Crowe won 8-4, Brendon Nelson and Grahm Mayers lost 5-8, Seth Batye and Colton Johnson won 9-7.
In singles matches Maasdam won 8-2, Crowe lost 3-8, Nelson lost 2-8, Batye won 8-5, Mayers lost 2-8 and Johnson won 9-7.
The Junior Varsity won four out of six doubles matches. Gavin Sampsel and Tyler Black won 6-1, Caleb Corbin and Spencer Maasdam won 6-2, Chace Corbin and Carson Anderson won 6-0, Tucker Hathcock and Ben Cueni-Smith won 6-0, Remington Gillespie and Alex Webb lost 3-6 and Tyler Huffman and Caleb Corbin lost 5-7.
The Hornets travel to Kirksville Thursday and Friday for a two day tournament with Trenton, Grain Valley and Kirksville.
