Chillicothe Municipal Utilities – Recycling

The Chillicothe Municipal Utilities Refuse Department is responsible for pick-up of both trash and recycling.  Casey Johnson from CMU says Trash and Recycling are picked up on the same day for residential customers, but not at the same time.

There could be hours between trash and recycling pick-up.

Johnson explains the items allowed in the recycling.

#1 and #2 plastics, paper, aluminum, tin and steel.

Plastic and metal items should be rinsed of any residue from their original contents.

Items that contain food or food residue or other filth are not allowed in the recycling.

Johnson says you can check the CMU web page, under Refuse, to see what is and is not allowed in the recycling.    They are also planning to send out a flyer in the CMU Billing in the coming months.
