Hornets Track & Field Athletes Heading To State

The Chillicothe Hornets track and field athletes that advanced to sectional at Archie High School had an opportunity to punch their ticket to the state meet, and several Hornets and Lady Hornets are now heading to Jefferson City.

 

For the Lady Hornets, Tori Stoner won javelin with a throw of 38.9 meters, also qualifying for state, Lydia Bonderer in the 800m, Lexy Smith in the 400, and Emerson Staton in shot put.

 

The boys 4×200 meter relay team for Chillicothe comprised of Silas Midgyett, Logan Murell, Brennan Fitzpatrick and Soljier Allen took first place with a time of 1:29. The 4×100 and 4×800 relay teams will also be moving on to the state finals. Individually, the relay teams will be joined on the track by Silas Midgyett in the 100, Brennan Fitzpatrick in the 400, Luke Thompson in the 800 and Cain Evans in the 3200. While in the field, Elijah Hall in long jump, and Bo Smith in both the discus and shot put will be representing Chillicothe at the state meet on Saturday at Jefferson City High School.
