City and County Receive Missouri Blue Shield Designation

Livingston County and The City of Chillicothe have received designations under the Missouri Blue Shield Program.  The Missouri Blue Shield Program, created by Governor Mike Kehoe in January through Executive Order, recognizes local governments that make significant efforts to reduce crime, foster law enforcement collaboration, and build strong community partnerships for public safety.

The Chillicothe Police Department and the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office received the announcements this week.

Police Chief Jon Maples says it confirms his belief in the value of partnerships.

Community partnership with organizations to create a safer community.

Sheriff Dustin Woelfle says this designation affirms Livingston County’s effort to create a safer, more secure environment for all who live and work here.

Making funds available to better equip the department.

Communities and Counties with a Blue Shield designation will receive opportunities for public safety grants.
