UPDATE – Washington Street Resurfacing Prep Near Completion

The final preparations before the resurfacing of Washington Street in Chillicothe are nearly complete.  The MoDOT Contractors have been working to replace and repair curbing and entries to driveways and parking lots.

The overnight resurfacing of Washington Street had been scheduled to start on June 19th.  MoDOT says a schedule change from the contractor means the resurfacing work is now expected to begin on June 23rd.  The resurfacing is from US 36, through Chillicothe to north of Highway 190.

Resurfacing will be done between 8:00 pm and 6:00 am – seven days a week.  During the overnight work, Washington Street will be narrowed to one lane and flaggers may be directing traffic. Access to city streets may be closed for short periods during resurfacing. Motorists should expect delays and consider alternate routes.

This project is weather-dependent.
