State Troopers reported a 12 year old girl was injured in a single vehicle accident in Carroll County Tuesday evening. The accident happened about 7:40 pm on US 65 at County Road 360, when 55 year old Berneta Quick of Carrollton was southbound and struck a deer in the roadway. Her passenger, 12 year old Maggie Shoemaker of Marshall was taken to Fitzgibbon Hospital for treatment on minor injuries. They were both wearing safety belts.
Troopers in Caldwell County arrested a Lawson man Tuesday morning. Thirty-seven year old Bucksly Barnhill of Lawson was arrested at about 8:10 am on a Clinton County warrant for alleged failure to appear on a charge of alleged failure to register a vehicle. He was transported to the Clinton County Jail pending the posting of bond.
