Chillicothe City Hall and Livingston County Courthouse participated in Student Government Day this (Thursday) morning, hosting students from Chillicothe High School and Southwest of Ludlow.
Presiding Commissioner Ed Douglas says it is an opportunity to show the students how their local government works.
At City Hall, City Administrator Darin Chappell says the department heads and a few of the elected officials explained their duties and they then had a round table discussion about Missouri’s Medical Marijuana law and the various aspects of the law, including the proximity of dispensing facilities to schools and parks.
Students at City Hall also received tours for the Police and Fire Department and of the City Hall Building.
