Carrollton Man Arrested Following Fatal Benton County Crash

A Carrollton man was arrested and charged following a crash in Benton County that took the life of the other driver Wednesday evening.

 

Troopers in Benton County arrested 44-year-old Robbie A. Acton of Carrollton, who has since been charged in Benton County Court with alleged DWI – resulting in the death of another and leaving the scene of the crash that resulted in a death.  He is held at the Benton County Jail with bond set at $250,000..

 

State Troopers report the crash occurred at about 7:25 pm on Route H in Benton County.  Names were not released in the crash report.  According to the report, a 44-year-old woman from Lincoln, MO died at the scene of the crash, and an 11-year-old passenger was injured.

 

The crash occurred when the Carrollton man was northbound on Route H and crossed the centerline and struck a southbound vehicle.

 

The Lincoln woman was pronounced dead at the scene.  Her passenger and the Carrollton man had minor injuries and were both taken to Bothwell Regional Medical Center.  No one was wearing a safety belt.
