Grundy County Crash Leaves One Dead – Two With Serious Injuries

A three-vehicle crash on Friday night in Grundy County took the life of one man and left two others with serious injuries.  State Troopers report the crash occurred Friday at about 11:45 pm on US 65, near Spickard.  An 82-year-old Trenton man was southbound in the northbound lane while passing another vehicle.  They were approaching a hill crest and struck a northbound vehicle head-on.  The 82-year-old driver died of his injuries.  A passenger in his vehicle, a 72-year-old woman from Trenton, had serious injuries.  And the 21-year-old driver from Spickard, who was stuck head-on, had serious injuries.

 

The woman and the 21-year-old were taken to Wright Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.  She was later taken to St Luke’s on the Plaza.

 

The driver of the vehicle being passed was not injured.
