Assistant Chillicothe Fire Chief Kevin Hoskins was honored Wednesday afternoon in an official retirement ceremony. Hoskins joined the fire department in 1979 and served in several capacities, including as an EMT, paramedic, firefighter, lieutenant and retires as Assistant Fire Chief. A ceremony was held Wednesday that included numerous presentations, including the presentation of the proclamation of Kevin Hoskins Day by Mayor Reed Dupy, the Presentation of a cabinet to display his Fire Helmet, Proclamations from Missouri’s House and Senate, Shadowbox from his shift crew, a Presentation from State Fire Marshal, a retirement fire ax from the local firefighters union, his boots, name tag and helmet by the command staff and a flag case that will hold the flag flown over the fire department on his last day of work.
Hoskins says his service was unique as he had a fire on both his first and last day of service in the community.
