A statue honoring the late Chillicothe Mayor Chuck Haney was unveiled at Hedrick Medical Center Tuesday. The statue, provided by the hospital, depicts a man sitting on a bench reading a newspaper. The short dedication ceremony honored the man who was a tireless advocate for and supporter of the new hospital, both personally and as Mayor. Attending the ceremony were his children Kathy Haney Carlton and Kevin Haney, along with City officials, friends, and hospital staff. The statue is located in The Gardens at Hedrick Medical Center.
On a side note, this was the statue that prompted the call for a suspicious person in the gardens at Hedrick late Sunday night.
