Ninety calls for service were handled by the Chillicothe Police Department on Thursday.
In the morning, officers and EMS responded to a death investigation in the 300 block of Wilson Street. The Livingston County Coroner was called to the scene. Police conducted a welfare check in the 400 block of Wise Street. The check focused on children’s welfare and school attendance, and the Children’s Division was also brought into the investigation.
At 1:59 p.m., a theft complaint was reported to police involving expensive earbuds taken from United Methodist Church. A few minutes later, at 2:01 p.m., officers checked on suspicious activity at Simpson Park involving a man watching children.
Later in the day, officers investigated property damage at a storage unit.
The day concluded with officers assisting an intoxicated individual in the 1000 block of Graves Street around 10:52 p.m. The individual was threatening self-harm and was taken to Hedrick Medical Center for evaluation, with Crisis Intervention Team protocols followed.
