The Chillicothe Police handled 85 calls for service Monday. The report includes theft, a fire and an arrest.
2:29 am, Officer provided a courtesy ride to a subject from the 2600 block of N. Washington Street to their home on Olive Street.
10:02 am, Officers responded to report of possible gunshots in the area of 400 block of Webster Street. They determined the sound was aerosol cans exploding in an illegal trash burn. The resident that started the fire was identified and cited for the illegal burn.
12:42 pm, Officers took a report of license plates stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of Tenth Street.
1:42 pm, Report of a northbound pickup on Washington Street from Jackson Street with items falling out the rear. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
3:22 pm, Officer received a report of a stolen 4-wheel ATV from the 2900 block of N. Washington Street.
5:33 pm, Report of someone with open fire in the street on Jackson Street. The fire was put out and the person was advised not to burn in the street.
6:22 pm, Report of several people loitering in the 1200 block of N. Washington Street. They were contacted and were waiting on rides. They then left the area.
6:54 pm, Officers assisted Emergency Services with a fire at the rear of the Country Club. The fire was extinguished.
8:50 pm, shoplifting was reported in the 1000 block of Graves Street. A woman was arrested in the business and a man ran from the business but was caught on the parking lot. The woman had warrants from Clay County and the man had an active warrant from Alabama and had a prohibited weapon (knuckles) in his possession. Both subjects were processed and held at the Daviess/DeKalb County Regional Jail.
